This animated political cartoon forms part of an ongoing series of satirical animations produced within the constraints of a regular weekly news cycle, all of which comment in some way on Australian socio-political issues. I employ a number of styles and devices in my work. This particular example shows a scrolling device employed in a number of my other works, its function being to gradually reveal different components of the entire scene to the viewer; as well as a predominantly black and white, high contrast image so that it presents effectively on the smaller resolution screen of portable media devices.

This animation consists of a scrolling landscape in which Australian political figures are presented in a context that satirises their actions and positions throughout the 2007 Federal election campaign. The closing shot shows the electorate as a group of disinterested individuals asleep in front of a plasma television; the TV screen image parodies a notorious election pledge made by the then Prime Minister, with the plasma TV representing the aspirational mindset of mainstream Australia.
